Valentine’s day is one occasion which is celebrated almost every where in the world. Though personally I would ask why celebrate it only one day. Isn’t that a day to day occasion? Frankly I don’t mind the gifts often you know!
. I know every website out there gives you “Valentine’s Day” special menu, but I hold the opinion that the menu should be customized more so for what your partner likes. So just because chocolate is on the special menu does not mean you have to have chocolate. I know there are many weirdos like me who don’t like chocolate (including the love of my life!).
The Menu can be as simple or as elaborate you want. Since I am this blogging freak and get this opportunity to dump ahem feed – all my “exotic” creations – I like to actually cook very simple yet elegant dish on the valentines. But the choice is totally upto you. Before you plan – here are some questions which might help
- How much you want to slog?
- Are you looking for ‘more time with your partner” than with the kitchen?
- Is it exotic dishes which you want to use as a theme or comfort meals which you grew up with?
- Want to go for something new or is it going to be “Tried and Tested” recipes?
These questions are the ones I ask myself often and plan accordingly. I vary it every time – sometimes simple, sometimes exotic. At times I try something totally new which I have never tried before. I have put together few recipes below in order to inspire and get your creative juices flowing

Of course, I don’t want you compromise on your health or diet plans just cos you are enjoying a Valentine’s day. These Quinoa dinner rolls are a great way to sneak in “healthy” without being obvious about it. But if health/diet is not an issue you can always go for these soft and chewy dinner rolls. |

The beautiful color of this Beetroot soup – Borscht has a love message written all over it. Colorful soups like – Carrot soup are in! |

I like vegetables which can be used as serving dish! They add something special to that food. These heart shaped Acorns make for a beautiful presentation for serving Mixed rice. Filling and pleasing to the eyes. |

If the Acorn stuffed rice was pleasing what will you say to this plate of Moroccon Spaghetti. It gives a whole new meaning to the term “bursting with color”. Very easy to make, quick to set it up and what more – its nutritious too! |
Dessert (See all Valentine’s Day Recipes)

I know it sounds cheesy but then what’s a valentine without a cheesecake? This Marble Cheesecake with hint of chocolate is worth this occasion ( psst. its made with fat free cream cheese. But don’t tell anyone!). |

These Canadian classic is now a favorite word in my neighborhood not to speak about my husband’s colleagues. These scrumptious Nanaimo Bars were not only easy to put together but its that perfect dessert for all chocolate lovers. Store bought graham crackers make it a dream to make! |

Visiting after a long time & theres so much to catch up!
Lol..I know…u surely chose smart words..and yeah HIM (my hubby)cooking for me ,in my case too will end up eating out(good part of it) and me working overtime to clean mess in kitchen(scary part of it)…Hey are we going to celebrate the day of love or the day of public bashing of our respective partners ? Lets stop it here, just in case our better halves come to read this, we wont even get a decent Treat on v-day…lol
Will get my diamonds, got him the Chocolates and will lunch out on weekend, that’s about it. I would rather have “time” with the guy than any presents!
U deserve all the diamonds sweetie! But then what ’s a diamond to you – who herself is one

No no..u simply cannot do this..why on earth r u tempting me to slog on 14th? The post should come with a statutory warning that its strictly for the male counterparts..Don’t u think we the females need this day (apart form our Respective Birthdays, Anniversaries, proposal day, Mother day, Women’s day etc) to get pampered by our better half(ves).Let them cook these lip smacking dishes for us, and let us enjoy the day watching them sweating and fuming in kitchen…Ahh the sadistic pleasure…lol
See that’s why I was careful in my wording – I said Partner
Wasnt specific about woman cooking for the man! It can also be vice versa
And yes, I am with you totally (although pssst. I am not too sure about HIM cooking for me!!!!!!! We both wud end up eating outside
if you know what I mean! ) –DK
