well m fond of black forest cake since my childhood n every yr my b'day cake is none other than but black forest.

  • Yields: 6*6-inch cake
Ingredients
  • for sponge
  • 1. Eggs - 6
  • 2. Powdered Sugar - 1 1/2cup
  • 3. Flour – 1cup +1tbsp
  • 4. Cocoa - 3tbsp
  • 5. Cornflour - 2tbsp
  • 6. Baking powder - 1tsp
  • 7. Salt - 1pinch
  • 8. Vanilla Essence - 1tsp
  • for frosting
  • 1. amul cream - 400 ml(i dnt get any wipping cream in joshimath)
  • 2. vanilla essence - 1tsp
  • 3. icing sugar - 4-5 tbsp(add as per ur taste)
  • canned cherry - 1
  • chocolate shavings(i used dairy milk)
Method
1.

Preheat oven to 180 degree

Sift the flour ,cocoa , baking powder ,salt n cornflour.

3.

Beat the eggs and sugar with beater till very thick ribbon falls [beat for approx 10 mins but i never saw those thick ribbons:(]add vanilla essence and beat again for 1 min.

4.

Turn gently into tin and bake for 30-35 mins till a toothpick comes out clean(but my oven took only20 mins).leave d cake for completely cool down n cut in 2layers.

5.

for frosting

Whip the cream with 4-5tbs powdered sugar until thick and holds peaks. divide into 2 bowl.mix chopped cherries in one bowl.Place the bottom layer n spread the cream with chopped cherries.

6.

then put the other layer of sponge n spread the remaining cream(without cherries).decorate with chocolate shavings n cherries.

hey thnx alot:)....yes i think u can but m not very sure bcoz m also new in baking.....but that substitution list is composed by dk so m sure its full proof(no room for mistakes)....al d very best....

Hi, The cake looks really yummy.... I donot eat eggs. So, can I substitute eggs with the egg substitute given in this site? Thanks, Nikitha
