A delightful combination of Methi and Green Peas. Methi Matar Malai is a rich dish made from freshly chopped fenugreek leaves (methi leaves) , green peas, cream.

Ingredients
  • • 1 cup Green Peas
  • • 2 cup Fenugreek Leaves , Chopped
  • • 2 Medium Sized Onion ,Chopped
  • • 4-5 Green Chili ,Chopped
  • • 1 Piece Ginger , Chopped
  • • 3-4 Cloves Garlic, Chopped
  • • 2-3 Cardamom
  • • 1-2 Clove
  • • ½ cup Cream
  • • ¼ cup Milk
  • • A Pinch Turmeric Powder (optional)
  • • 1 tsp Kasoori Methi
  • • 1 tsp Cumin Seeds
Method
1.

Heat ghee or butter in a pan sauté half of onion, green chili, garlic, cloves, ginger and cardamom and cashew. Sauté till the onion turns golden. Turn off the heat and let it cool. Transfer mixture to the blender or food processor. Blend it till the smooth paste.

Heat remaining ghee or butter in a large pan over a medium flame. Add cumin seeds and stir for a minute. Now add remain onion and saute till onion turns golden. Now add smooth paste in the pan and fry well.

Add fenugreek leaves, kasoori methi, garam masala, turmeric powder, sugar, salt and green peas. Toss them well and add milk. Keep stirring over low-medium flame.

Add cream in the pan and cook for 2-3 minutes more. Turn off the heat and sprinkle with coriander leaves.

Step 1 starts with heating ghee or butter then in step 2 we are supposed to heat remaining ghee or butter; however, the ingredients list does not have any quantity of ghee or butter. Could you please add that measurement? Without that, I will have to start without ghee then use the remaining ghee in step 2 :-) Thanks Your form forces me to add a url (which I don't have), so I am adding one from my dream :-)
