Popcorns have earned themselves unwavering fan base ranging from toddlers to old alike. There are exceptionally handful few who would not like Popcorns. They form mnemonics for so many activities - be it movie watching in cinema houses, watching Games -live or from home in front of TV, fun snacking food - name it and you have it. Other than these, Popcorns have also associated themselves to Christmas where sometimes they are wrapped as decoration items and hung in the Christmas Tree.
They can be so simple to make, taking minimal effort and time, and decorated to give away as a fun gift. It helps to lighten the mood of any party finding favor among all age groups. I had some buttered microwave popcorns lying around and I thought of making use of them this way. You can use normal unbuttered popcorns too for this recipe which I have adapted from a Vegetarian Cookbook.
Pop the corn as per directions in the packet and set aside. I use m/w buttery popcorn.
In a saucepan, mix butter, sugar, corn syrup along with cinnamon in low heat and keep whisking until the sugar blends well. Remove from heat.
Add the popcorn, nuts, cherries and raisins.
Stir well until blended and set aside for 1-2 min until cooled enough to handle by bare fingers. But dont let it cool completely.
Add little melted butter in your hands to avoid the corn sticking to your hands and then shape them into small balls.
