Though there are quite a number of ways to reduce your “crying over” chopping onions, the following two methods work the best for me. Using a sharp knife and freezing the onion for 5-8 minutes. I tried few other methods before but they were not conducive or practical for me, esp the one involving cutting it under running water (waste of water) or soaking the onion in salted water before chopping (soggy onion - yuck!)
