Since Quinoa is not an Indian crop, I am not sure it has an Indian (or a Hindi) name. I have heard that it is available in few select shops in Mumbai and Bangalore. I know of this person, named Wanitha, who imports it from France and distributes it in India. You can get in touch with her via this email:wanithaashok@gamil.com

It is available in India and is known as Marsa in the northern parts. I told my mother about quinoa today and when she saw the picture of its plant, she told me that it is available in garhwal, Uttarakhand. Please update this information since this creates the confusion of it being not found here, when it is. :)

Oh is it? Can you please point out the picture/packet and more info on this? Would help the other readers. Thank you Mayuri --DK

it is not an indian crop, its simply called quinoa in india. Jowar, rajgira etc can be substitutes of quinoa. Both quinoa and jowar, rajgira have same nutrition benifits.
