This kuzambu whem mixed with rice is good for postnatal women.It heals wounds (caused during delivery) in the body.

Ingredients
  • Tamarind-lime size
  • oil-1 tbsp
  • mustard-1 tsp
  • channa dal-1 tsp
  • urad dal-1 tsp
  • tuvar dal-1 tsp
  • turmeric-1 tsp
  • hing powder-1 tsp
  • manathakali vattal-2 tbsp
  • sambar powder-2 1/2 tbsp
  • red chilli-1 no
  • salt- to taste
  • curry leaves
Method
1.

Soak tamarind in a warm water.

Take kadai, pour oil. while its getting heated, add mustard, urad dal, chana dal, tuvar dal red chilli, hing powder and stir it. Then add manathakali vattal and let it sit for a minute.

It will become swollen and golden brown. Add curry leaves. Now add sambar powder stir it. Add tamarind juice, turmeric along with two cups of water.

Add salt to taste. Allow it to boil for 10 minutes in a medium flame till the raw smell of tamarind goes.

5.

In a vessel take 1 tablespoon of rice flour mix it with water and pour it in the kuzambu and stir it.

6.

The kuzambu mixture thickens and it is ready to serve.

Thank you for this! I have a big stock or manat alkali vathal and didnt know how to make kuzambu. Looking forward to serving it alongside ven pongal!
