Tender coconut and sago,goes very well.Quick and easy ,can be consumed during fasting also:)

  • Yields: serves 2-3 person
Ingredients
  • 1 cup sago flour or tapoica flour (if you get it)
  • 1/2 cup Jungle rice/Bhagar/Samo Seeds/Mario seeds (powdered)
  • 1/2 cup tender coconut puree
  • 1/2 tea spoon sugar
  • 1 packet plain eno-Fruit-Salt
  • sea salt as per taste
  • Fresh coconut water as needed
  • oil / ghee as needed,for greasing
Method
1.

In a large bowl add sago and bhagr flour,add salt,sugar,tender coconut puree and mix well.

Now add fresh coconut water as required,make idli like batter,add eno and mix well.

3.

In a greased,idli stand pour batter up to 3/4 and steam for 15-17 minutes or till done.

4.

Serve hot with,desi ghee or spicy peanut chutney.
Note:
If you wish add condensed milk 1/2 cup,avoid sugar and add truty-fruity,vanilla essence and steam like a cake.

i had fast and wanted to eat idlis,while drinking coconut water a thought strike me,how it taste with sago,though i had earlier tried sago coconut pudding in thailand,ma trip last year,but not made idli with this combo,so tried my hand on it,hope,all of you will love it too.if want to make it more sweet add condensed milk to it,specially you dk:)

I had been to a marriage recently and ate a dish named idli curri and it had idli's dipped in coconut water which had all condiments in it..i really loved the dish.so if you could please post the recipe for it.

similar to the above recipe is neer dosa(recipe from karnataka)or tender coconut dosa and the recipe for the same is : rice – 1 cup,Fresh grated coconut – 1/4 Tablespoons, Salt – To taste Grind soaked rice and fresh grated coconut in the mixer/grinder adding water in steps to a very fine consistency, Add water to the ground dosa batter and bring it to the pouring consistency so that when it is poured on the dosa griddle it should splash well on the griddle to get very thin dosas and peanut chutney is the combination to this dosa..:-)
