Its a breakfast and tiffin item

Ingredients
  • aval-1cup
  • onion-medium sized-2
  • garlic-4to5 gloves
  • ginger gratecd- 1tsp
  • carrot grated-1/4cup(optional)
  • oil-2tasp
  • mustard-1/4tsp
  • channa dal-1/4tsp
  • urad dal-1/4tsp
  • hing powder-1/4tsp
  • salt- as per taste
  • cashew nut-4nos
  • greenchillies-medium sized 3 nos
  • turmeric powder-1/4tsp
  • coriander leaves-for decoration
Method
1.

Chop onion finely.cut green chillies, garlic into small pieces.in a heated kadai, pour oil . then add mustard, urad dal, channa dal , cashew nut,& hing powder &green chillies.saute it till golden brown

then add onion, garlic, grated ginger & carrot. add turmeric powder and salt.

in the meantime wash aval in water and squeeze it nicely. add this squeezed aval in the kadai. mix well with the onion mixture. cook it for 5 minutes.

4.

switch off the stove and decorate the aval uppuma with coriander leav es.
