kadhi is,a side dish,made all over India...with little bit of change in spices..BUT ...the base..is same everywher...that is Yogurt-Chickpea flour-Water-Salt-Turmeric powder...mix all...This one is Gujarati Kadhi..:)

Ingredients
  • 250 gram okra / lady finger / bhindi (slit length wise)
  • For Paste:
  • 1 cup yogurt
  • 2 tablespoon chickpea flour
  • 2 cup water
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed pepper
  • salt to taste
  • For Tempering:
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 2-3 cloves
  • 2 dry red chillies
  • 1/4 teaspoon dry fenugreek seeds
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 2 slit green chillies
  • few curry leaves
  • 1/4 teaspoon asafoetida
  • For Garnish:
  • fresh coriander leaves (chopped)
Method
1.

For Paste:
Mix all ingredients with blender,keep aside.

2.

For Tempering:
Heat oil in a pan,add all ingredients of tempering in a given order,swat for a min,now add slit,okra swat for 5 min,on high flame.

3.

When okra turns little bit soft add prepared paste and bring to 5-6 boils,adjust water acc to your required consistency.

4.

Serve hot with steamed rice or phulka...:)))))))))
