Modak is favorite prasad of Lord Ganesh's and mango is ma favorite this Ganesh Chaturthi....thought to combine both..:)

  • Yields: 15-20 normal size
  • 2 cup mawa (evaporated milk-Grated)
  • 2 cup caster sugar
  • 1 cup cashew nut powder
  • 1 cup mango pulp
  • 1 cup milk powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon mango emulsion (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon ghee (clarified butter)

In a non stick pan heat ghee,add mawa and roast for 5 minutes on low flame.


Add mango pulp and stir and cook continuously till it thickens,add emulsion and sugar,stir and cook till all ingredients bind together.


add cashew nut powder and milk powder and mix well.Cool and give shape of modak with greased mold.


Can be stored on self for 2 days.You can add cocoa powder and chocolate essence to make it chocolate flavor.Can be added strawberry pulp instead of mango pulp,it taste nice too....:)

actually ma mom is making this type of modak with just mawa and sugar and saffron...but i added fruit pulp..dry fuit powder too...:)
