Naan is a leavened, oven-baked flatbread.It is typical of and popular in South and Central Asia.I made it without egg or yeat or oven.....:))

Ingredients
  • For Dough:
  • 4 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt or to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon soda-bi-carb
  • For Mixing:
  • 1/2 cup yogurt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 tablespoon butter
  • water if required
  • 2 tablespoon oil
  • For applying:
  • Dry flour-as needed
  • Nigella seeds-as needed
  • Butter-as needed
Method
1.

Sift the flour, salt,soda-bi-carb and baking powder into a bowl and make a well in the middle.Mix the sugar, milk, yogurt and butter in a bowl.

Pour this mixture,into the center of the flour and knead adding water if necessary to form soft dough.Add the oil, knead again, then cover with damp cloth and leave for 2-3 hours.

The dough will rise,punch and knead the dough again and divide the dough into 8-10 balls and allow to rest for 10 minutes.

On plain surface just roll or flatten the dough balls with hands,using dry flour,apply water over it and sprinkle some nigella seeds over it.

Heat the pan,covered on medium flame for 5 min,or till hot,sprinkle little bit oil and place the naan over it,cover with lid and on low flame cook for 5-7 min or till done from both sides.

Apply butter on HOT naan ,cut and serve with any gravy ......or as it is it taste yummy:):)

NOTE: If you wish can add any fresh or dry herbs while making the dough or sprinkle on top while cooking.

8.

NOTE:My VEGAN friends can avoid yogurt,milk and butter and can use oil and make dough,they can add one soaked white bread for extra softness.
