It is an easy to digest,no oil South Indian breakfast staple.

Ingredients
  • raw rice ravai-1cup
  • pepper powder-1/2tsp
  • cumin powder-1/2tsp
  • salt-1/2tsp
  • grated coconut-2tsp
  • for seasoning
  • oil-2tsp
  • mustard-1/4tsp
  • urad dal-1/4tsp
  • channa dal-1/4tsp
  • hing powder-1/4tsp
  • red chillies-2
Method
1.

In a pan take m3/4cups of water.allow it to boil. when it starts boiling add salt and grated coconot.then add raw rice ravai,pepper powder and cumin powder. mix it well then switch off the stove and allow the mixture to cool.

In a kadai add oil. when it gets heated add mustard, urad dal, channa dal hing powder and 2 broken red chillies. when the dals get golden brown , remove it from the stove.

Add this seaoning into the rava mixture.make kozhukattai (oval shaped)with hands

Steam this pidi kozhukattai in an idli stand kept in the cooker. allow it to steam for 10 minutes. then take it out and serve it with chutney.
