This is some what unusval combination of health drink with regular Indian sweet....try it out....:)I think this one is also a good option for tomoorows festival "Karthigai Deepam"

Ingredients
  • 2 tablespoon ghee
  • 1/4 cup rolling oats (crushed)
  • 1/2 cup fresh coconut (grated)
  • 1/4 cup bottle gourd (grated and blanched)
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup kesar badam complan
  • 1 table spoon black poppy seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon saffron
  • few drops vanilla essence
  • For Garnish:
  • white poppy seeds-as needed - as needed
  • colorful fruit jelly (chopped) - as needed
Method
1.

In a pan heat ghee,add crushed oats and swat till pinkish,add fresh coconut and swat till light pink and then add bottle gourd,and again swat for a min.

Now add sugar and mix till sugar melts,add complan and mix well.Now add saffron,poppy seeds and vanilla essence,mix well,turn off the heat.

Make lemon size balls,place in a paper cups and sprinkle white poppy seeds over it and garnish with chopped colorful jelly"s.

Can be served chilled or at room temperature or as HOT Halwa..then don"t make ladoo...:)

NOTE:vegans can avoid ghee and 1st dry roast semolina and then follow the same procedure,but add 1/4 cup coconut milk before adding sugar.

this ladoo consist of some left out tit bits from ma pantry....as i was in a mood to clear ma pantry"s residue in to some thing sweet n tasty delight...:d i have very little,kesar-badam complan,which i was not feeling like drinking,i had some coconut residue obtain after 1st cococnut milk press...
