no shilpa,it is not the cracked wheat it is split roasted chana (bhuna ,cheela hua chana)jo kisi bhi chana kurmura ki dukan mein bhi milta he.It is called dalia (Putnala/Bhuna Chana Powder) not daliya(broken wheat). And it is the same thing that we add to coconut chutney, we make for idli,or if you don"t have it i suggest you to add besan after dry roasting on low flame, instead of bread crumbs. If you say I will post it"s picture on CIY"s wall now,u just check it out...:)

Many thanks for your reply. I was holding on to making these kebabs this Sunday until your reply:). Now, I can very well try making these and will surely update you on they turned out. I love bread crumbs and try making the kebabs with them. I have one doubt regarding the roasted chana (powdered) you have referred as DALIA. Is it the same as cracked wheat ? Please share. Thanks again.

Hi Shilpa..sorry 4 reply, yes you can use besan or even bread crumbs or even little bit kaju powder too if you wish, taste will not change. And roasted chana is nothing but DALIA which we generally use for making chutney,so i think it can also easily available. My friend cooking is what experimenting so you can always make little bit changes here and there to the dish......cooking should not be stopped due to the absence of any one or two ingredients:,happy cooking:))))))

This recipe of minty dahi kebab sounds really good. Can I substitute the roasted chana (powdered) with gram flour or besan in this recipe. Eagerly waiting for your reply. Thanks
