It is a multi-grain mildly spiced pancake that is simply bursting with flavor and nutrition.Thalipeeth is a delicious Maharashtrian recipe which goes very well with a dollop of white butter.
Dry roast every ingredient separately till crispy.Grind together all the roasted ingredients in flour mill. This mixture is called as bhajani. Can be stored in a air tight container on self for a month and used when needed.
In a large bowl, add all ingredients for thalipeth and mix well, sprinkle water little by little and make the thick paste type dough.
Wet your palms, and take small ball of dough, spread like small disc and on hot tawa or griddle place it.Make small 2-3 holes in disc with your finger.
Now sprinkle oil in holes and by the sides of disc, cover and cook from both sides till golden or done.
Serve hot with white butter on top, yogurt and green chilli pickle....or as it is ..tastes delicious...:):)
NOTE: Use oil for roasting thalipeeth,as ghee or butter doesn"t tastes good.
NOTE: You can use any vegetables for making this.
NOTE: Bhajani,a very nutritious and flavored flour, can be used for making Vada / dosa / uttapam / halwa / kachori /pancake ...any thing..you wish,so try to keep it handy at home.
