Dill Roti

By DK on Mar 17, 2009
I got myself some fresh looking Dill last week and for my usual dinner of Roti (which is Indian flat bread), I added the herb along with often forgotten spice - Dill seed. Depending on your taste buds and preferences, add the herbs since many ppl find the herb little overpowering. I found 1 tbsp of the herb added only the slightest hint of its presence but enough to make a wonderful change and the dill seeds only help to compliment it. Its very simple and not at all time consuming.
Basic Information
Prep Time: Under 30 min
Cook Time: Under 15 min
Serves: 2 people
Yield: Makes around 10 thin rotis
Ingredients
  • approx 2 cups whole wheat flour, plus some for dusting
  • approx 1 tbsp dill leaves, chopped ( as per taste, some ppl find it strong.)
  • 2 tsp dill seeds
  • salt to taste
Method
1
Mix all the ingredients together

I’m slowly getting used to flavor of dill. It has too much flavor-I think. But 1tsp should be pleasant enough. Will try.

I was running around with my camera and Arvind was running around with Camcorder, so we missed each other and only kids got in all the pics! It happened last year too. Hahaha.

Yummy! 1 tbsp Dill leaves? Are ya crazy, I need half a bunch! ;D
I know some people don’t like Dill at all, depends on your taste. Dill seeds have strong enough flavor, rotis look yum! :)

I have linked few B’day photos at my post, look at them before I take them out! :)
