A wonton is a type of dumpling commonly found in a number of Chinese cuisines.are very popular as snack or appetizer. They come in small parcels and are available in many forms; deep-fried, boiled, steamed, or in soup.It is available from the corner of the small street to big restaurants in China and now in India and across the world.I like it as we can add any stuffing to it.It can be savory or sweet.I included beans and fruits and veggies to it and loved it"s flavor very much ,so wanted to share with you all.I think you guys will be going to kill me for adding any thing and everything in any dish.....:D:D
I think it"s very good THANKS GIVING RECIPE..:)
For Dough: In a bowl mix all ingredients and by using water make semi hard dough and apply veg oil and keep covered for 15 minutes.
For Stuffing:In a pan heat sesame oil and add all ingredients in a given order and swat for 2 minutes each, when you add them.Cool it.
For Wonton:Roll very big chapatti of 1/4 inch thick out of the dough and cut small squares out of it.
Place a teaspoon of the filling in the middle. Fold up the wonton so that it resembles a nurse's cap, wetting the edges to seal.
In a hot oil add the wontons, few at a time, sliding them in carefully and fry until they are golden brown, turning to make sure they brown evenly. Drain on paper towels.
Serve hot with sweet soy sauce or any dip of your choice.
NOTE: If more calorie concious you can steam or bake it too.
i m not using the ready made wonton wraps or skins instead i used home made and fresh wonton dough for making wontons.
