Actually pita bread is the staple food of Middle Eastern countries, usually made with all purpose flour using yest, but i made it with multi grain flour.....no baking...no yest, quick n easy to make. This pockets are so tasty n sweet n tangy you can have it on it"s own, with tea/coffee ,if you are in a hurry and don"t have the time to make stuffing..so just go for it:))))))))))
For Pockets:
In a mixing bowl add all flours, salt, sugar and baking powder, mix well.By using all juices make normal dough,no need to add extra water, keep covered for 1/2 an hrs.
Now make tennis ball size, balls from dough, roll thick chapattis, use dry flour if needed.
On a hot griddle/tawa roast chapattis, from both sides by using oil / butter.Cool and cut from the middle and you will get two pockets out of one chapatti.
Apply ketchup / green chuttny /any hot sauce / salsa inside the pockets and spoon the stuff in it,garnish with cheese / paneer any thing of your choice...Serve on the bed of cabbage:)
For Stuff:
In a pan heat oil, butter and then add all the ingredients one by one (given under stuffing) and swat for 2-3 mins, cool and spoon into the pockets.
If wish you can grill this pockets in micro for 1 min,to melt the cheese...:)
Vegans can avoid butter and cheese, instead they can use oil and tofu .
i wanted to have chapatti, veggies n salad n juice for breakfast, but not in a usual way...so think of this to have variety in day today"s breakfast...:))
