Satay is a very popular delicacy in Indonesia;is a dish of marinated, skewered and grilled meat(traditionally), served with a sauce but now it is made using veggies or paneer in India,but I made it using my left over cocktail idlies and given Indian tandoori flavors to it....:)

Ingredients
  • 1o-12 cocktail or small idli
  • 1/2 cup capsicum (diced)
  • 1/2 cup red bell pepper (diced)
  • 1/2 cup tomatoes (diced)
  • 1/2 cup onions (diced)
  • For Marination:
  • 1/2 cup yogurt (plain)
  • 1 tablespoon cream
  • 1 table spoon cornflour
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon green chilli paste or to taste
  • 1 teaspoon ginger garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon red chilli powder or to taste
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1/2 teaspoon fennel seeds powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dry fenugreek powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
  • salt to taste
  • Oil for grilling
  • Tooth pics-as needed
  • Chat masala for sprinkling-as needed
Method
1.

For marination:
In a bowl mix all ingredients and whisk properly,add idlli,bell pepper,capsicum,tomatoes and onions,mix with light hand.cover with cling film and refrigerate for 15 min.

In a pan grill sprinkle little bit oil and grill all marinated ingredients for 5 min ,by turning sides.

In a tooth pic arrange all one by one,sprinkle chat masala over it...serve hot as it is or with green mint chutney....:)

NOTE:Vegans can avoid yogurt and cream,then also it will taste nice,just add 1 teaspoon water or any fruit juice instead.
