Easy Strawberry Milkshake Recipe | Strawberry Milkshake using Ice cream Recipe
Its SUMMER! Officially that's my excuse for the milkshake, but fresh fruits and ice-cream combined has never needed any persuasion in our family. I make ice creams on and off. Recently I made a tempting trio (the kid coined the term) - Easy Chocolate ice creamEggless Strawberry Ice cream and Classic Vanilla Ice cream  as requested by the boy. Yes, we are still blaming summer for going overboard, but the recipes are ridiculously simple hence had no reason not to.

Making milkshake is only the natural next step.  I got this idea of using powdered milk from TheKitchn website and really loved how creamier the milkshake is with its addition. I can go on and on about how delicious this milkshake is but seriously - its milkshake with icecream. Enough said. Lets go to the recipe and kitchen!
  • Cook time:
  • Prep time:
  • Serves: Makes 2 small or 1 large serving
  • Yields: Around 2 cups
Ingredients
  • 4oz Strawberries, plus few for garnish
  • 1 tbsp Sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1/2 cup whole Milk
  • 1/2 tbsp Powdered Milk (optional)
  • 1 cup Strawberry Ice cream
Method
1. Hull and chop your strawberries in coarse chunks.
2. Add the sugar along with vanilla extract and let it sit for 30 minutes.
3. You can alternatively freeze it for up to an hour. You can make it right-away as well if  short on time, but I find letting it sit in the freezer makes the milkshake taste even better with strawberries absorbing the full flavor.
4. Blend the strawberries along with the juice and milk until smooth.
5. Add the milk powder if using. Blend until combined.
6. Next comes the best part of this milkshake - the ice cream. Take my suggestion - forget the suggested amount; just add as per taste. Err, I might have gone a little overboard myself!
7. Add it to the blender. You can alternatively stir it with your hand in case it gets stuck. Or use a little more milk until everything combines well. Its ready to serve.
You can use a chilled glass to enjoy this absolutely lip smacking milkshake.
