A Hamburger is a sandwich consisting of a cooked patty,usually placed inside a sliced bread roll. Hamburgers are often served with lettuce,tomato, onion, pickles, cheese and condiments such as mustard, mayonnaise, ketchup and relish.But this one is very -very different,I made it on children"s day for my cute small guests and they all loved it.Hope all of you too will like it:)))))))))

Ingredients
  • For Burger:
  • 1 cup quinoa flour
  • 1 tablespoon split black gram flour
  • 1 tablespoon curd (vegans can avoid it)
  • 1/2 teaspoon soda-bi-carb
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • salt to taste
  • water as needed
  • Non Stick Appam maker
  • For toppings:
  • Green chutney or any pesto sauce-as needed
  • tomato ketchup-as needed
  • cucumber slice(peeled and cut in circle)-as needed
  • cherry tomato slice-(cut in circle)-as needed
  • spring onion-(cut in circle)-as needed
  • cabbage or lettuce-(cut in circle)-as needed
  • apple slice-(cut in circle)-as needed
  • paneer(cottage cheese)/tofu(for vegan)-cut in cubes as needed
  • salt and pepper-as needed
  • For Garnish:
  • Tooth picks-as needed
  • red pepper cut in small cubes-as needed
  • peas(blanched)-as needed
Method
1.

For Burger: In a mixing bowl add first 7 ingredients given for burger,and by using water,make idli like batter and keep covered for 8-10 min.

2.

In a non stick appam maker,spoon batter for burger and cover and cook for 5-6 min,on low flame;cool and cut in half.

On lower part of appam apply green chutney,arrange all toppings one by one ,sprinkle salt and pepper on them.

On upper part of appam apply ketchup and place on top of the burger.Tuck with red pepper,peas and tooth pick.....enjoy :)))))Good option for any party n occasion..:)

NOTE:If you don"t have quinoa flour,not to worry,replace it with rice flour / oats flour / sorgham flour /wheat flour.

NOTE: If you don"t have appam maker and then instead of making batter just make soft dough out of the given ingredients and ferment for 10 min,make small burgers and bake it,cool and cut it.

NOTE:If you don"t have appam maker and oven also then,just fry pakodas out of the batter cool and cut it and use as burger.

NOTE:You can also use butter or mayonnaise or any coleslaw to apply inside the burger.can use any other cheese instead of paneer.

NOTE: If you don"t have appam maker and then instead of making batter just make soft dough out of the given ingredients and ferment for 10 min,make small burgers and bake it,cool and cut it.

NOTE:If you don"t have appam maker and oven also then,just fry pakodas out of the batter cool and cut it and use as burger.

NOTE:You can also use butter or mayonise or any colslaw to apply inside the burger.can use any other cheese instead of paneer.

NOTE:You can also add small patties made out of any veggies,if you wish.

In short cooking is experimentation,with different ingredients,no one can stop cooking just lack of one or other ingredients.

I forgot to sprinkle sesame seeds on top,while making appam,so if you are making it sprinkle white or black sesame seeds to give more burger like effect
