Aloo Posto is a delicious Bengali recipe generally eaten as a dry accompaniment to a meal of rice and curries.I made it using Okra / ladys fingers / bhindi....hope u guys will like it:)

Ingredients
  • 250 gram okra (chopped length wise)
  • 100 gram poppy seeds
  • 2 tablespoon refined mustard oil or any oil
  • 1 teaspoon nigella seeds
  • 1/4 cup dry coriander powder
  • 1 tablespoon dry mango powder
  • 3-4 green chillies or to taste (slit length wise)
  • salt to taste
  • 2 tablespoon water
  • 1 teaspoon ghee / vegans can avoid it
Method
1.

Soak poppy seeds in warm water for 1/2 an hrs and grind to fine paste.keep aside.

Heat up mustard oil in a pon till it reaches smoking point,let the oil cool and then, heat it again on medium heat.

Add nigella seeds,gren chillies and okra and stir fry on medium heat for around 5 minutes.

Mix in the poppy seeds paste, and stir. sprinkle little bit of water and stir fry on low heat till the okras are almost cooked.

Now, mix in coriander powder,dry mango powder and salt and cook for another few minutes.

In the end, stir in desi ghee and serve hot......with steamed rice or chapatti.:)
