The whole country welcomes the onset of ‘uttarayana punyakaram’, with the celebration of Makar Sankranti, which marks the journey of the sun to the northern hemisphere,which is just around the corner.I still remember...the smell of melting jaggery...roasting sesame seeds and sweet smell of many goodies in our kitchen..which my mom..used to cook ,on this holy day.Today I m sharing one of ma most fav snack which ma mom used to make then,I used to munch it whole day...in tiffin...in lunch..dinner or what so ever...:D:D....Ya but that was fried and today I baked it...thx mom:))))))))))))

Ingredients
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup grated jaggery
  • 1 cup multigrain flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg powder
  • water (luke warm)-as needed
Method
1.

In a bowl mix flour,salt and spices and strain it,just for the mixing purpose,keep aside.

2.

In another large bowl,add oil and grated jaggery and with spoon mix in one direction till,jaggery melts.

3.

Now add flour mixture in this jaggery mixture,mix well.with the help of water make soft dough and keep covered for 15 min in refrigerator.

4.

In between butter paper roll 1/2 inch thick big chapatti,cut in diamond shape and place it over baking tray,which is lined with butter paper.

5.

Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes at 180 degree C,it cook very fast,so be careful,keep an eye on them.

6.

Cool them on wire rack and store in air-tight container.Can be stored for a month on self,if remain so long...;)
