Falafel is a mediterranean dish.....full of protein and calcium,i added red and green pimento to it to enhance flavor and Vitamin content of the dish...very quick fix and easy starter .....:)

  • Yields: serves 3-4 person
Ingredients
  • 1 cup dried chickpeas (boiled)
  • 2 red onion (chopped)
  • 1/4 cup red pepper (finely chopped)
  • 1/4 cup capsicum (finely chopped)
  • 1/2 cup fresh parsley (chopped)
  • 4-5 cloves garlic
  • 2 teaspoons cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon coriander seeds
  • 6-7 pepper corn or as per taste
  • 1/4 cup all purpose flour
  • salt to taste
  • poppy seeds as needed
  • oil for frying
Method
1.

Combine chickpeas, garlic, onion, coriander, cumin, salt and pepper corn in a food processor.

2.

Crush all add red pepper,capsicum and all purpose flour,mix well.Refrigerate the mixture for 10 minutes.

3.

Make small lemon size balls, coat with poppy seeds.Fry in hot oil until golden brown.

4.

Serve hot with salad and hot pepper sauce and cliantro dip......:)( I had this handy,traditionally it is served with Humus and Tahini Dip)

i first ate it in one of the mediterranean restaurant ,liked it very much,tried it at home....all thx to one of ma frnd who is chef ,who shared the recipe with me.when i first made it then made it in a traditional way...but then tried adding different veggies to it.......today i had a small get together at ma place ,with the theme of street food and added this also to the menu,along with vada pav,dabeli..a famous mumbai street food.....though little bit tired,but want to share all this things with u guys....and it"s ma pleasure.....:)
