You can use this BASKETS,as pie or canapes to make chaat or dessert or to serve salad or thick sauce too....looks very pretty.Usually when we eat basket chaat in any Chaat Corner,it is made out of potatoes,so I tried to made it with vermicellies.

  • Yields: make small size 8-10
  • 1 packet semolina vermicelli
  • pinch of salt
  • water to sprinkle
  • cooking oil spray as needed

In a flat dish add vermicelli and spread it,evenly;sprinkle little bit of tap water and salt over it,just to wet it,don"t over soak it,keep for 5 min.


In a small mold or katori apply oil and with light hands,evenly spread the vermicelli in mold and spray little bit oil over it.


In a preheated oven,bake it @ 180 degree C for 5-7 min or till brown (keep watch on it as it will easily burn).


Cool on wire rack and demold it.Store in air tight containers.


NOTE:Don"t use brown or roasted vermicelli.


NOTE: If you want it gluten free,then use rice vermicelli.


NOTE: If you want you can deep fry it,for that don\"t apply oil in mold,just spread the vermicelli in it,in hot oil place it and on medium heat fry it,keep pouring oil in mold,then with tong just pick it twist down wards in Kadhai or Vok,till all oil drops from basket ,then with the help of knife,remove it,when it is still hot,other wise it will break.
