Maharashtrian savory snack recipe, kothimbir vadi or coriander(cilandro) cakes are basically a salty cake preparation with chickpea flour..hope you guys will like it..:)))

  • Yields: serves 3-4 person
Ingredients
  • For Batter:
  • 2 cup fresh coriander leaves (finely chopped)
  • 1-1/4 cup chickpea flour
  • 2 tablespoon rice flour
  • 1 teaspoon ginger paste
  • 1 table spoon garlic paste
  • 2 tablespoon green chillies paste or to taste
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala or to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon asafoetida powder
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (roasted)
  • 1 teaspoon poppy seeds
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 2 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoon hot oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon soda-bi-carb
  • salt to taste
  • water as needed
  • For Frying:
  • Vegetable Oil
Method
1.

For Batter: In deep bowl,mix all ingredients of batter;except water,now make thick dosa like batter,using enough water.

In a greased flat plate pour the batter and steam for 15-20 min or till done.Cool and cut into square pieces.

In deep wok,heat oil,deep fry this squares till golden brown serve hot with curd and green chutney or ketchup or as it is with tea or coffee...:):)

NOTE:you can micro cook it too instead of steaming.

NOTE: If counting on calories one can just eat it as it is without frying or shallow fry it in little bit of oil.
