Launji is a Rajasthani dish mostly made out of raw mango,it"s little bit sweet and sour in taste.Can be served in main course or as dip or chutney with any snacks.I made it with peru(guava)and believe me the not so loved guava tastes so devine in it:)

  • Yields: serves 3-4 person
Ingredients
  • 2 big guava ( Peeled,deseeded and chopped in cubes)(not fully ripe)
  • For Tempering:
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 2-3 cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon fennel seeds
  • 1/4 teaspoon dry fenugreek seeds
  • 1/4 teaspoon asafoetida
  • 2 dry chillies (torn)
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • For Spices:
  • 1 tablespoon red chilli powder / as per taste
  • 1 tablespoon dry coriander powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1/2 teaspon black salt
  • salt to taste
  • Add On:
  • 1-1/2 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon gram flour
  • 1 tablespoon tamarind pulp
  • 1 tablespoon jaggery
Method
1.

In a wok heat oil and add ingredients of tempering in given order,swat for 1 min.Add cubed guvava and swat on full flame for 2-3 min.

Add spices and 1 tablespoon water and swat for 1 min.Mix all ingredients of add on and add to the veg ,cover and simmer for 3-5 min. on low flame.

If wish can sprinkle chopped fresh coriander for flavor and garnish,serve hot with rice or any flat bread....enjoyyyyyyyy.

NOTE:Good for picnic or travelling or lunch box.You can also serve it as condiment with chips,wafers,nachos or khakhara or as bread spread.
