Khaman is sometimes confused with dhokla - but it is almost entirely made of chickpeas, where as dhokla is prepared with different ingredients and ratios of chickpeas.Very light and protein rich snack can be carried in lunch box too,as it taste nice at room temperature.....And yes I made it in a traditional way ,ma mom use to make since years, without any twist...:D
For Batter:
Mix all ingredients ,mix well in one direction and immediately pour in greased plate,in a hot steamer steam for 15-20 min.or till a knife inserted in the middle comes out clean.Cool it ,sprinkle red chilli powder on it.
For Tempering:
In a pan heat oil,add mustard seeds,as soon as it crackle, add green chillies and curry leaves and put of the flame.now add sugar, lemon juice and water and cover it,pour on the khaman.
