Actually this is famous Gujarati Chutney ma granny use to make for us ,usually for travelling or picnic, the tangy taste of it is still lingering on ma tongue.I just added roasted flaxeed to it for making it more healthy bcoz flaxseed is one of the functional foods that benefit people with diabetes and dyslipidemia. Flaxseed is rich in omega-3, lignan, and dietary fiber......frnds try ma version of RAJKOT CHUTNEY:)
Grind all the ingredients add a little water if required.
Serve with rice, idli, dosa, or paratha or any snacks or chips or khakara or nachos.
Lemon will act as preserving agent in this dish,so can be preserved for 3-4days without refrigerator too and for 15 days in fridge.
Good for lunch box or picnic or travelling...:)
I left out the flax seeds as I was craving for original taste of Rajkot chutney since years - yes haven't had it since almost 10 years - but can never forget it's taste...since earlu childhood i have eaten the original Rajkot chutney from the food vendor who prepares it in Rajkot - with the special potato chips from the same vendor.. so I think I can surely comment on the taste of this recipe ... It is awesome - would not give it 100% but well that's why the vendor has sole propietership for the "secret" ingredients in it. But I would definitely say it is almost 80% close to the original taste which is great !!!!! Could not wait to eat when i prepared this so no time to take any picture of my preparation :):)
